This pattern is not very complicated, but the end result makes you think it is. In 9 rows out of 14 you just knit or purl across.

Row 3: (edge st) knit all with 2 yo in every stitch (edge st)
Row 4: (edge st) knit all the stitches (edge st)
Row 5: (edge st) knit all the stitches (edge st)
Row 6: (edge st) purl all the stitches (edge st)
Row 7: (edge st) k1, yo, k3, cdd, k3, yo (edge st)
Row 8: (edge st) purl all the stitches (edge st)
Row 9: (edge st) k2, yo, k2, cdd, k2, yo, k1 (edge st)
Row 10: (edge st) purl all the stitches (edge st)
Row 11: (edge st) yo, skp, k1, yo, k1, cdd, k1, yo, k2 (edge st)
Row 12: (edge st) purl all the stitches (edge st)
