Briaran is a brioche knitting pattern worked in brioche cable stitch. In the video I show and explain the new way that I knit brioche cables.

MC - main color yarn
CC - contrast color yarn

Directions:
With main color yarn cast-on:1 (pattern repeats) x 36 + 1 symmetry stitch + 2 selvedge stitches = 39 stitches
If you want to knit a wrap or a blanket, just increase the number of repeats in the formula above.
Work row 1 with main color yarn. After that slide all stitches to the other end of the needles, join contrast color yarn and work row 2 with contrast color yarn.
Row 1 MC: k1, *sl1yo, k1; rep from *, sl1yo, k1.
After each even row turn work, pick-up main color yarn and knit the odd row.

Work rows 1-68 according to directions, after that repeat only rows 5-68 until almost reached the desired length of the scarf. Before bind off work once rows 69-80 (identical to rows 5-16).
